Mi Problema

Old fan was making all sorts of noise. I didn't even realize my Mac had a fan for years until this fan started to go, and then it was obvious as a blue sky.

Mi Solucion

Overall, it was a pretty easy repair, but a tad trickier than a standard PC laptop due to the tight tolerances and incredibly small parts. If yo . . .

Mi Problema

Fan was not cooling my Macbook Air 11"... I had to use an app to speed up my fan's rotational speed to keep my mac cool. Finally I decided to replace the fan.

Mi Solucion

It was easy with the instructions provided by IFIXIT.

Mi Consejo

Have a good workspace and time to methodically complete any repair.

It sounded like, based on all other forums I had read, that the ball bearing in the fan had run it's course and the least expensive route (short of shooting some silicone lubricant into the fan) was to rep . . .

Mi Solucion

Everything went according to plan except the driver (P5) stripped. iFixIt dispatched a replacement NEXT DAY! Wow, what service.

Mi Consejo

If you have multiple P5-bolt-burdened devices tho . . .

Mi Problema

The fan wasn't working anymore, and made a light repetitive click noise.

Mi Solucion

Well. But opening was enough. No need to change the fan, there was just some crumble blocking the fan…

Mi Consejo

Good luck
