the sound coming out of my mba was terrible. it was broken and i was using external speakers.
Finding the right part from ifixit was great and with the clear how-to instructions it was a cinch. thanks and kudos to you!
May i suggest, that you identify the orientation when you say the "right speaker".
It took me a while to discover that the right speaker will be actually on the left when you open up the MBA because it would be upsidedown.

My right speaker was distorting very badly.
Fantastic. Couldn't have been easier. The tools and guide are fantastic. Replacing the speakers is a pretty simple task when you have the correct tools.
Be very careful when tightening the screws. They are small and somewhat soft and you can strip the heads pretty easily. You don't need as much torque as you think.

Right speaker on my MacBook Air blew out when I was using an app to play audio louder than the OS limits... oops.
Super easy. Took all of 10 minutes, maybe? Normally I would have had to do the whole Apple Store repair process; this was so much better, and fun.
Follow the guide that's here well, and you will be set.

I destroyed my Macbook Air Speakers using a little peace of software called BOOM.
I just followed the replacement guide on ifixit and it was super easy.
Nothing to add here
Installed a third party volume boosting app from the App Store on my Macbook Air. Shortly after the right speaker started crackling!
Easy. Followed the instruction guide step by step. You may think you do not need to buy the spudger; don't be fooled. It's an essential tool.
Get the spudger. Make sure you have the correct torx and penta-tool for the screws.

A strange cracking sound started when I watched a movie and after some tests, I've discovered the need of the speaker to be changed.
The repair was fine, I'm happy with the results. The speaker have some kind of glue or tape to help the speaker to be fixed. To remove it need some effort but nothing difficult.
Nothing at all, the guide is excellent.
