Tools and Tools

ronsteinke -

Mi Problema

I am a volunteer Macintosh technician with a computer refurbishing organization and always need specific tools to work on certain Macs properly.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

A recent donation to our organization (a working 2.4GHz iMac without a hard drive) came to my desk. It had a note from the donor that the hard drive had been removed, but I could not see any indication that the iMac had been opened. I turned it on and saw the flashing question mark on screen. Since I had never worked on that particular model iMac before, I did not have the suction cups to remove the glass screen in my tool box. A quick visit to the iFixit web site and my order was on its way to me.

The suction cups were the fix for the job and replacing the missing hard drive was done in less than 30 minutes. Installing the OS-10 software and updates took a bit longer.

Mi Consejo

If you need a specific tool to work on your computer, go to the iFixit web site and you will find what you need. I can rely on the tools available from iFixit to do the work I need and save me time and effort in my work.
