Replaced noisy right MBP 2007 fan

Mi Problema

The fan was getting pretty noisy and wouldn't rev up to 6000 RPM when the computer was running hot. I initially disconnected it and ran with just one fan, but even though I tried to avoid this, the computer ended up running pretty hot and the next day my boot partition was corrupt. So I ordered the replacement fan.

Mi Solución

I had replaced the HDD before so I knew what I was in for and I had the right tools. It's a bit of work to get the computer open but it's not too bad. It was unclear how the wire connects to the logic board so I initially tried it the wrong way up but of course that doesn't work.

Don't be afraid to disconnect the keyboard.
