My friend's screen was pretty badly cracked, so I had her pay me to replace it.

It went well. I had had experience disassembling my iPhone 4 before so I was fairly comfortable doing it again.
Mi Consejo
If replacing the display, make sure to remove the metal screen that covers the ear hole from the old display and apply it to the new one. The replacement part didn't come with one.
