Mi Problema

Lock button stopped clicking and was difficult to use. Issue happened almost immediately.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

Thanks to the guide and screw chart this difficult repair was easy.

Mi Consejo

There should be a few more steps after transfer the new cable to the bracket. In order for your proximity sensor to work, you need to transfer the sticker with the foam ring on the old sensor to the new one. Also, the padding on the connector and microphone could have been mentioned to be transferred as well. The plastic piece that sits on the cable that appears to hold down the cable, with the one loop, does have a home. I luckily found it after screwing the bracket back in. The loop was on a pin and I could no longer remove it. I just put it in the area I thought it should go while screwing in the bracket. Lucky i'm sure. One last note, the long side of the bracket sits between the antenna and a spring finger tab when you reinstall.

As for the initial problem of the button no longer clicking, I noticed that the small black dot of a sticker was missing from the old button on the cable. (same looking one found behind an iPod click wheel) It's possible that all this fix needed was the spacing this sticker used to provide. I came to this idea because the button on the old cable would still click when pressed with something like a screwdriver.
