Broken Screen and a Black to White Transformation
I dropped my iPhone on its face twice and both times resulted in a crack. I couldn't stand looking at it anymore, so I started looking for screens on eBay. I decided that I'd just buy a new screen, back plate, and home button in white. I've been wanting a white iPhone since they came out. Why buy one when you can make one?
I used iFixit's tutorial on how to replace the home button to replace the screen, back plate, and home button. The directions were easy to follow, and I had no problems. The only thing that went wrong was dropping one of the tiny screws on the dining room floor. On hands and knees I searched for the screw for 15 minutes before I found it.
I used scotch tape to adhere the tiny screws to a piece of paper, then I labeled them by size and what step they were used for. This made reassembly quick and very easy.
