Fairly well up to the point of inserting the #3 ribbon cable under the white plastic tab, I'm not sure if I succeeded in inserting it all the way, but it now works fine. I was heading for a 20 minutes task until then, added an extra half hour of fumbling.

Extra advice on how to push or pull that ribbon cable.
