My five year old Halo Xbox was acting wonky for a few months and then BAM! RROD! I did research on the error and fixes. I came across a fix that wrapped the Xbox in towel. Um, no. How much does Microsoft want to fix it, $99? Again, no. Then I found the ifixit guide and a $30 kit with (almost) all the tools.
Mi Solución
Following the step-by-step guide was easy and very clear, but it was a little challenging to find the right holes to remove the top and bottom cover plates. I would guess that several models of Xbox are slightly different and the holes may be different from model to model.

Rad the instructions entirely before you begin. After you begin, follow every step and take a look at the next couple before proceeding. Know what's coming and be patient.
