My original track pad was demonic. It would start off nice and friendly, doing what I asked, then after awhile would take over my computer, opening pages, skipping around, my cursor ignoring my input.
I watched a youtube video on how to replace that pad before I bought it so I knew it was doable. It was hard to get out the screws that hold the battery in - needed a three sided Phillips which my neighbor had. The other hard part was getting the tab for the track pad under the keeper - forceps would have been handy. But I got it in and it works beautifully!
Watch a video on how to do it. Get some teeny tiny tools.
