Replace Macbook Pro battery

Mi Problema

Original battery was 37 months old and usually required recharge in about 75 minutes of use when on full battery power. I did not want to give up my laptop while the battery was being replaced was the main reason for doing this myself. Cost was secondary, but I did save money and have the tools to do again if needed in the future.

Mi Solución

Repair was very easy. I did buy the special tools recommended to do this which helped a lot. My apprehension about doing this was unfounded.

Mi Consejo

I was concerned that some data, esp. clock settings, would be lost during the outage period of battery switch out. No detrimental effects at all. The clock and calendar were off upon start up, but the Mac quickly reset through the wifi [I think] within a couple of minutes. I definitely recommend ifixit for parts and expertise in doing ones own repairs.
