Difficult

Mi Problema

I cleaned the lcd with a damp cloth and figured might as well wipe the keyboard down. I didn't notice how wet the cloth was until after I finished wiping the keyboard, there were visible water drops. I boot the computer and the letter A was stuck.

Since my computer was out of warranty and the alternative of spending $$$ for a replacement was not an option, i decided to try the ifixit route.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

After ordering a replacement 17" unibody upper case/tool kit and consulting the Installing MacBook Pro 17" Unibody Upper ifixit guide, I was able to replace the upper.

My MBP looks/feels like a new MBP now with the replacement upper.

Mi Consejo

Before screwing in the logic board, make sure the cables from the upper are accessible. Otherwise, you will have to unscrew and remove the logic board and fish out the loose cable.

With this new feeling keyboard, I just bought a plastic keyboard cover and will do my best to keep liquids away.
