Everything went very smooth following the instructions found on iFixit website and machine woks very fine after this upgrade. Regarding the guide, it is not really necessary to remove the RAM units in order to install the second hard drive as it is advised by the instruction guide. I attached a few pictures taken during the upgrading process.
