iPod with Video 30GB Battery Replacement

Mi Problema

After five years, my iPod Video (30GB) would no longer hold a charge. It had been sitting on my desk unused for about a year before my son told me how cheap a replacement battery was.

Mi Solución

Followed the guide provided by iFixit to replace the battery. Tools provided with replacement battery were all that was needed. Total time taken, approximately fifteen minutes.

Mi Consejo

There is a bit of ribbon cable stuck on the underside of the battery. Be very careful when attempting to wiggle the battery free from the adhesive as you don't want to damage the ribbon cable.

Other thoughts:

At first, I was going to purchase a battery on another site, but once I saw the 6-mo guarantee and the tools provided I decided to purchase from iFixit instead.
