TriWing: The final tool

Adam Hervey -

Mi Problema

I needed to fix a macbook pro that had some smoothie under the trackpad (not mine). I have opened up a few hundred laptops in my life, and when it was time to remove the battery to get to the trackpad, I got to my first stump ever: i didn't have a triwing screwdriver. I've tried so many brands and the only brand I liked so far was Husky from Home Depot (all of the other brands seem to strip those little baby screws); but Husky doesn't have a triwing. So it was time to get a real set of big boy tools for my office. Since I needed pentalobe for our iphones anyways, I took the plunge and got the big kit, because it's great to know that I can now get into literally any device now, and not strip screws. I love feeling prepared.

Haven't had to use the Project Mat yet, but I love the smell of new tires that the underneath has. Coworkers are not into it when I made them smell it, but I love it.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

I haven't fixed the trackpad yet, so I'll let you know.

Mi Consejo

Get real tools if you are a real hardware repairwoman or repairman. It will increase your confidence. And if ifixit has helped you fix stuff in the past, you might as well get them from ifixit as a thank-you, since they're good quality.
