Mi Problema

My 3G Iphone has seen a lot of use, you could say it is well loved. Back when it was new, I was a Motorollla Guy, but my wife got this new toy and loved it. I decided to give it a try. I had used an Ipod but not much. Apple always seemed way to pricy for me. This phone realy changed my opinion. This is a great phone and after a couple of years I was dissapointed to discover that the battery was dying. Worse yet the apple store wanted over $100 to put in a new battery. So I gave the phone to my 16 year old daughter and bought an Iphone 4 for myself (it was upgrade time). BIG MISTAKE the 4 is great for games and maps and all kinds of stuff EXCEPT being a phone. When I lost the 4, I went back to cheap crappy voice and text, no more smart phones for me. My daughter just went to collage and earned a great scholarship, so I bought her her choice of a new smartphone. The 3g found its way back to my desk. So I did a little google search and found Ifixit. $26 !?!?!?!?!Like thats even a question?

Mi SoluciĆ³n

The repair went really well. Took about 20 min and the battery even had a charge on it to start. The only real Issue was connector #3. Lift up on the narrow part of the connector. :-) I'm not really a circuit board kind of a guy. More like car engine rebuilding. I did wait untill the 7 year old was in bed and the teenagers were well occupied with homework, the wife taking a bath and the dogs got fresh rawhide to chew on...

Mi Consejo

Read through the online guide a couple of times BEFORE you pick up any tools and do the work where you can refer to the guide while in process. Very Handy. Make sure you have a couple of containers to keep your screws seperated. You have to use a magnifying glass to tell them apart if you mix them up. A "can of air"is a great idea, clean as you go. dont start untill you have had enough coffee to get your hands to quite shakkingg. ;-)
