Mi Problema

While blowing leaves off my deck around the pool, I fell in. Yes, my iPhone was in my pocket. Yes, it was an A/C electric blower but I had ground fault protection. Yes, I tried turning the phone on............nothing. Put the phone in a bag of rice overnight and still no luck. Within two hours I purchased a new iPhone 4S and a few days later a Lifeproof waterproof case. Then I saw your web site and ordered the Liberation Kit. I wanted to replace my wife's Blackberry with this one if I could get it to work.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

I had watched a few videos of the disassembly process and figured I could do it as long as I was methodical in my approach. You can see this in my attached photo. I used regular electronics cleaner and a tooth brush to clean everything. Reassembled. Prior to replacing the back cover, I tried turning it on with the battery. No luck. Plugged the phone in with the charger and got the Apple logo and shortly the battery charge screen. It works! Tested all functions (except phone) and everything works including WiFi.

Mi Consejo

I did not disassemble the circuit board any further than shown because I suspected the problem was in the charger connector. I was using an Otter case and this is where the water would enter the phone. I was only in the water for a few seconds.
