drive replacement

Mi Problema

The hard drive croaked on my iMac. I ordered a 1T Western Digital drive and installed with the help of the web site.

Mi Solución

The swap out went smoothly, the instructions were clear and the photography was excellent. It took a total of one hour, start to finish. I have never attempted a repair of this nature before.

Mi Consejo

While I had the machine cracked open I also replaced the pram battery since it was right there and vacuumed out the dust in the fan. I figured this may save me opening the machine in the future. It would be helpful if the instructions listed other items that should be checked and/or replaced while the machine is open (such as the battery) since the nerve wracking job is disassembling the bezel and the steps involved in removing the screen.
