Repair only lasted about 5-6 hours worth of playtime (not consequtively either.) Use the time wisely to save your data to a thumb drive or upload online to playstation plus then go get a PS3 slim. I ended up repairing twice since I wasted my first repair by continuing to play. On the second one, I only disassembly the top of the motherboard off and left the bottom and heat sink installed. Then i heated from the top with the heat gun (reverse side of what is shown in instructions) and this worked fine.
