Mi Problema

I, like most MacBook Air owners, lost sound after years of ownership. I love my computer and think its a quality product. What I have learned from past experiences are forums are filled with great information, fixes, experiences, etc. I found many people shared the same problem I was experiencing so I followed their advice and purchased an audio cable from ifixit.com

Mi Solucion

The repair was simple, clean and stress free. I just followed the directions and photos provided by ifixit. 20 min later my computer was up and running....with sound.

Mi Consejo

My advice is for those contemplating the purchase of an audio cable or just taking their macbook to apple and having them fix it. Save yourself a bunch of money. I was quoted over 300.00 USD to fix the sound problem. They wanted to replace the audio cable, logic board and optical drive. I don't think Apple was trying to rip me off but I do feel they were trying to cover all the bases to guarantee a solution. While I appeciate their efforts, I did enough research on my own to be confident the audio cable was the cause of my problem. The cable was 35.00 USD with shipping. The money will always feels better in your pocket rather than theirs! Problem solved.
