iMac 2011 ssd upgrade

Mi Problema

Got a new iMac for the fam and just wanted to future proof it/ make sure it stayed useable despite the detritus that 4 people leave on a computer.

Mi Solución

Glass cover piped out way easier than I had anticipated and the rest if the disassembly was a breeze because of the awesome tools in the set. The crucial m4 I got didn't come with brackets to make it fit in a 3.5 inch drive slot. No worries tape to the rescue. Putting things back was interesting because of the magnets in the LCD but put it altogether at a much lower cost than paying for the upgrade through apple!

Mi Consejo

Pull the glass off from the top. Metal brackets on the bottom can get bent if you're not careful!
