Averted Disaster (Don't forget the power button)

Mi Problema

My kid dropped (kicked?) his touch on two different occasions. Still fully functional but screen was trashed.

Mi Solución

The only major problem I had was the initial removal of the old screen/digitizer. Nearly went too deep as I didn't realize the part I needed to remove was so thin. I recommend looking carefully at the new replacement part to get a handle on what you're removing. I've repaired iPod classic's on more than one occasion with good results and was confused at first because you do pry against the case when repairing/taking apart that type of iPod. This is not only unnecessary in this repair it's also a practice that will leave the unit useless as I'm sure if I hadn't come to my senses I would have broken the main board.

Mi Consejo

Don't forget to adhere the power button to the new part before installing the new part. It will be adhered to the used face (digitizer/screen). I forgot and had to gently remove and re-install the screen. That could have been put in directions I think just as a reminder. Otherwise things were pretty strait forward. One word....patience ;) Sorry no pictures taken but there are aplenty on this website.
