Mi Problema
My Playstation 3 got YLOD while I was playing Red Dead Redemption and I wanted to get my PS3 running again or at least get the disc out. So, because I couldn't imagine my life without my PS3 I started searching the web for a way to repair it and the first page that came up was the ifixit site. So I decided that there were no downsides by ordering the kit and follow the repair guide.
Mi Solución
The repair went smoothly. The tools were great and the guide were helpful but not entirely correct because I own the 40Gb version of the PS3. But since I'm a technician it was easy to figure out the things that wasn't consistent. There were some moments when I thought I almost f@*kted it up. First it was the heathing part. When I had finished heathing the motherboard I left the room so I wouldn't bump it by mistake and when I came back after a while to feel if it was cool i accidently bumt it. I started to think that it was broken, but fortunately it was cool enough. Then it was the other moment when I was completely done and I were going to test start it. I plugged it in and the red light didn't show, so I was worried that I had forgotten to connect something inside it and that I would have to open it up again. But as it turned out i had only forgotten to flip the switch on the back of it, hehe my bad. The repair took about 2 hours. Unfortunately I accidently deleted the folder with the pictures from my computer.
Mi Consejo
My only advice is to buy the YLOD kit from ifixit and follow the guide. Oh, and by the way. It's a little like operation so try not to lose anything inside and try not to make any big misstakes.
