Mi Problema
My granddaughter, 12 years old, asked if I could repair her XBox 360 from the Red Ring of Death. Since I am a PC Repair Tech I said that I would check out the situation. I found the video on ifixit.com and since the kit was only $36 with shipping I tried it.
Mi Solución
Following the video instructions on the ifixit.com I quickly was lost. I young lady has started in the repair having skipped over several steps from the guide for the RROD, which thankfully we found easily.
The case was much harder to get apart than expected, but once we were passed all of the plastic parts, the rest was a piece of cake.
The Xbox case separation tool and heat sink paste was worth the $29.95, but the 8/10 mm torx driver could have been better. I used the one out of my toolbox.
Mi Consejo
Read the instruction carefully and don't miss a step. The RROD repair guide was precise and complete, but my granddaughter kept trying to go to the next step too quickly.
