Good -- it wasn't necessary to remove the logic board, however, as stated in the ifixit guide

If you dont use the tool to pull back the logic board during the upgrade, you'll need a way to keep the end of the hard drive that goes in first elevated so that it matches up with the holes on the case. We simply attached a piece of packing tape to the black protective cover and kept upward pressure as we inserted the drive. When it was in place, we just pulled the packing tape off.
