MacBook was getting long in the tooth so decided to do a few tweaks.

Instructions on ifixit.com were thorough and simple to follow. First off I used super duper to clone the current hard drive to a new SSD, then off with the back and remove and replace. The old hard drive is now stored away in case of failure. Replacing the cd drive with the hard drive enclosure was a little more tricky, but the instructions helped greatly.. I have now set up a second hard drive in the machine as an internal time machine drive.
Running well now.

The reverse of stage 11 where you..
"Replace the three 2.5 mm Phillips screws securing the optical drive to the upper case." the top left hand screw is incredibly tricky to replace as you have to go in at an angle to avoid the top of the replacement housing.
Took a good ten minutes on this one screw.
