Boost Mini with SSD

jwashizu -

Mi Problema

Added SSD as boot drive for my Mini Core i5 2.5GHz. It was some challenge opening up my almost brand new Mini under warranty. I didn't think I'd need a 128G drive, and BTO was too much to afford.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

Working with Unibody Mini was not as tricky as opening the first generation Mini for the first time. All steps were straight forward and iFixt instructions were comprehensive. Only mistake was that I failed to disconnect the IR and LED wires and broke the connector. Making sure to follow all the steps is essential.

Mi Consejo

Getting the SATA cable and working with your own tool is okay, but the tool is great, too. The logic board removal tool is well designed; working with two screw drivers would have been an headache.
