iPod 5th Generation (Video) Battery Replacement

Mi Problema

The battery in my 60Gb iPod Video had been lasting a tiny fraction of the time it would when I first purchased it. If I was lucky, it would last the commute to work and home without dying. Half of the time I plugged it into the computer, it wouldn't have enough battery to properly connect and would freeze up. With this new battery, I can go so much longer without charging, just like I did in 2004 when I bought it!

Mi SoluciĆ³n

It was unbelievably simple. The step-by-step guide online here were easy to follow and right on point. I never would have guessed replacing an iPod battery would be so easy, given that Apple is so closed sourced with everything.

Mi Consejo

I called the Apple store a while back wanting to know how much a new battery would cost and they wouldn't even tell me. I had to *make an appointment* to have them look at my iPod before they would offer pricing to replace the battery.

Right.

Looking online, the standard price seemed to go for about $60 for my iPod type, and here it was $15! And that included the tools needed to replace it. It was of superb quality, fit perfectly, and was completely compatible. The products offered here along with the guidance are invaluable. Seriously, I don't think I'm going to go through official channels to repair anything before checking here again.

Also, I didn't take any pictures while I was repairing it, so I just included a picture of the back of the iPod. Cheers!
