iPad 2 Wi-Fi Power/Mute/Volume Buttons Cable Replacement

Very difficult

Mi Problema

I dropped my iPad and shattered the glass. When I was cleaning out the broken glass I cut the cable! Thought it was a piece of adhesive!

Mi SoluciĆ³n

Repair went well, but the iPad wouldn't power up after. I didn't power it completely off before starting the glass removal!

Mi Consejo

Be sure to power it off before starting the repair! The small metal "corner" that covers the on/off button assembly can be pried off and super glued back on. It makes access to the area much better. I did it by accident! You might include that tidbit in your instructions. Also, just for time savings, show how to disconnect the battery to completely restart the system. I redid the whole install before reading somewhere else about the restart, then no clear instructions of how to disconnect the battery. You might also make it known that the double sided adhesive tape is clear so it's pretty hard to see..of course, I'm 64 years old, not a techie and this was my first time inside any of this type of device. Having done it once, I would tackle it again if necessary (I hope I never have to again!)
