Mi Problema

My MacBook, purchased as I graduated college in 2008 had some major internet issues. It would drop connection and self assign IP addresses ALL THE TIME and it was driving me completely nuts. After much research and many other quick, yet temporary fixes, I decided to just bite the bullet and buy/replace my airport card to see if that remedied the issue for me.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

My fiance and I conducted the careful surgery of disassembling my poor computer on a Monday night. I was a nervous wreck about keeping the screws in order and not snapping the clips that hold the keyboard in place. He was awesome at using the tiny Phillips head to remove said screws. The guide was PERFECT. Very clear disassembly and assembly instructions, helpful photos. So far, the new AirPort card is working much better. Fingers crossed that the issue has been fixed! iFixit was a pleasure to by from and work with.

Mi Consejo

Trust that you can do it yourself instead of paying the Not-So-Genius Bar (who told me it was just a network settings issue - False) to help you. And keep the screws neat. We used magnets to keep track of them!
