Soggy home button

Mi Problema

The phone got wet and the home button stopped working.

Mi Solución

After getting the phone put back together. I noticed the protective film on the inside of digitizer. I had to take the phone back apart and remove the film. During this process I bent and broke one of the home button spring contacts. After a short temper tantrum, I taped the contact to the end of the spudger and soldered it back in place. The repair worked, my wife has her phone back and the world did not end.

Mi Consejo

The screws that hold the LCD in place are stupid small. I would suggest sending a couple spares. Then make a ifixit refrigerator magnet. That could double as and advertizement and a screw keeper while taking the phone apart.
