Dead iPhone 4 front

kroeb -

Mi Problema

Needed to replace the front screen and facia as well as the Home Button as this was a lot cheaper than buying a new iPhone

Mi SoluciĆ³n

Using the videos from iFixit I was able to successfully take apart and replace the required parts. Took just over 30 minutes from start to finish. Parts from iFixit were excellent and well packaged when delivered. The tools that I purchased extra were fantastic and heaps better quality then the other tools available for working on electronic devices. This fix on the iPhone 4 was a lot easier and less stressful than replacing the front glass on an iPhone 3GS :)

Mi Consejo

Folks doing this for their iPhone make sure you put the right screws back in the right place. I drew a small diagram of the parts I was removing and put the screws on this so I knew where they little buggers when when I put it all back together. Also, it's worth buying the tool kit from iFixit as it is excellent quality and the tools are magnetised so you don't lose screws inside the device when removing them. And make sure you have plenty of light :) In all iFixit are fantastic and I will definitely use them again if required :)
