Macbook Pro 17 Left Fan Replacement

Mi Problema

On my 17in Macbook Pro, I started having a lot of noise coming directly from my left fan. So I removed the left fan and made sure it was lubricated properly and then reinstalled. Unfortunately, this fix was only temporary...the fan quit working within a week.

So I jumped on ifixit.com to order the part from them. Their shipping is fast and their guides are simply priceless!!

This is actually a fairly easy guide, the tricky/careful parts for me were when I was working with the iSight camera connection on the mother board, and the heat tape on the fan itself. Once I was past those issues the rest of the repair was pretty simple.

Mi Consejo

Don't do this repair twice, if your fan is making crazy weird/loud noises just go to iFix-it and order a new fan. That way you don't have to fix it and then turn around a week and change...again.
