Home button was intermittent

Very smooth thanks to the detailed write up and pictures that were provided with the ifixit guide. I took every suggestion that was given in the guide to clean contacts and such and when I was finished everything worked flawlessly on the first try.

Be prepared to spend a couple of hours to do this repair carefully and correctly the first time. Use a table with plenty of room for laying out your parts and screws in the order you take them out. I would also suggest applying some foam to the tips of the tweezers to use when installing the new home button. The ribbon cable of the home button is very delicate and it has surface mount components in the area that you need to grap with the tweezers. With the foam on the tip, you can grab the cable where the components are without damaging them and this also keeps you from folding the ribbon cable in half by squeezing it the other way.
