Mi Problema

My iPhone took a dive in the toilet. I did everything you would typically do, open the phone clean out the water put it in a bag of rice. However, I missed water in the circuit board located on the battery. After a couple weeks the board was corroded. I tried to clean it but ended up breaking the ribbon.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

The repair takes about 5-10 minutes. I have opened an iPhone before so I was prepared. The initial part I received from iFixit was DOA, unfortunately. A quick email to iFixit, and within 12 hours I received reply letting me know that a replacement part would be sent and I was not required to return the original for RMA. They did provide me with a website to where I can recycle the defective battery; I took the original and the defective unit in to be recycled. The replacement arrived a couple days later but worked perfectly. So far its charging and working normally. The only disappointing thing was the I rushed the original order to receive it before I traveled to Disneyland with my family. With the defective having to be resent I did not receive the replacement until a couple of hours after we had left. Not anyones fault, really, but I was hoping to be able to use some of the apps I had purchased before leaving.

Mi Consejo

Take care putting the camera back in, I ripped the ribbon on that as well and had to purchase a replacement.
