Mi Problema
I purchased a new Mac Mini and wanted to speed it up with a SSD (as a second drive). The SSD and 8GB of RAM does not dissappoint.

Super easy to take the computer apart and setup the SSD. iFixIt's guide is terrific. Putting it back together was a workout. See my advice for tips. Total time for me was 3 hours.
The little Mac Mini now feels faster for most things than the 8-core, 16GB ram, Mac Pro I use at work.

I have some advice that I hope will save someone else some time in the future.
I had a bowl to hold screws for each step. Recommended for first-timers like me.
1. Watch the position of the wires that connect the power supply to the motherboard. When disassembling, I didn't notice the the wires went underneath. Then naturally positioned themselves to the side of the supply, but everything would fit back together. Once I took it back apart and realized the wires go underneath, it was much better.
2. The main hard drive, has side mounting screws that fit into the back of the case, make sure these get seating before continue with reassembly.
3. The WiFi (airport) antennae plate would fit back on. I think it's designed to be slight bigger than it's container to get a good connection. I took everything apart and noticed I could snap it back in place by pushing up from the center of the mini's case. While you can't push up on the antennae when motherboard is installed I was able to tweak, twist and such until it popped in place.
4. I connected the fan, but noticed after boot the mini was getting hot. I downloaded the iStat widget saw the fan wasn't running and took it back apart. All I needed to do was to pop the fan connector back off and then back on and it worked.
Like everyone says, take your time don't force things and slowly work through it.
