iPod 80 GB video battery replacement

Mi Problema

My sister-in-law explained that her iPod wouldn't play music any more, and the screen just stayed black when she tried to use it, also when plugged in it never charged. It sounded like a dead battery to me.

Mi Solución

I ordered a new battery from iFixit, which arrived quickly. Following the guide I was able to easily replace the battery, and the iPod immediately powered on and was ready to go!

Others had noted that the case was difficult to separate to get access to the battery, for me it was really simple when I inserted a guitar pick between the plastic front and the stainless steel back. There were a few pops as the catches released and it was open.

Putting it back together is a 'snap' too - literally.
