Difficult

Mi Problema

My screen on my Macbook gave out on me after 5 years, and I decided to try to replace one prior to dishing out 1000 dollars on a new one.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

As a person who has opened up his laptop many times and has built his own computer, this is one of the more difficult projects I've undertaken. The entire process took me about 3.5 hours to complete. The guide was accurate and detailed. By the time the computer was disassembled I was convinced I had just killed it and that there was no hope in reassembling it. An hour or so later, I turned on my newly reassembled laptop and it worked fine!

Mi Consejo

The process was difficult, and apple is very meticulous with their variation of screw sizes. Make sure to acquire a ,#0, #00, and #000 phillips head screwdriver to disassemble the macbook properly, and keep the screws VERY organized.

The new screen has some sort of black foam thing on the back that the old one didn't. I thought the screen would be more snug so I kept the foam on. The apple on the back doesn't light up any longer because of the foam back, but I think it's kind of cool.
