I have dropped my phone several times before with no damage. It's only when I'm sitting on a concrete floor doing sit-ups does my phone slide out of my pocket, drop maybe 6 inches to the floor, land on the upper corner and crack the screen. The damage was fairly minor, compartively speaking, but still needed replacing.
I am not what you would call "tech savvy", but the video and step-by-step guide made it doable. It took me a little longer than normal, but I got all the pieces back together and everything worked like new when I was finished.
The guide doesn't mention taking off the protective film off the replacement screen, but sort of obvious if you want a prestine screen to look through. Also, the video shows the adhesives being placed on the replacement glass, but I think they were made to be placed on the plastic backing instead.
