Mi Problema

I use my iPod to listen to music in my car for commercial free service. Unit just went stupid one day when I started the car, and the iPod was not a choice to select on the selection menu. Removed it from the car and performed a reboot, only to have it quit again after 10 minutes of use. I knew it was going to need a fresh battery, this unit is about 8 to 9 years old.

Mi Solución

The opening procedure went well once I figured out how to start in the middle of the long side on the right. I used the metal spoon tool to make the initial separation, then inserted the nylon tool to spread the case and hold the case open. I then inserted another nylon pry tool to start walking down the side, and released the clips holding the back cover to the front fascia. After releasing the clips on the top and bottom, the back popped off easily. I was looking for the battery lead and over extended the back separation and missed releasing the battery lead. However, there was no damage, and I proceeded to unglue the battery from the back. Installation is a snap and had it back together in less than 2 minutes.

Mi Consejo

Watch the YouTube video to learn all the tips to prevent damage and open with ease. Be patient and calm. Start as many times as it takes to do it correctly, and take your time. It will feel great after you get it back operating.
