A Little Splash - A Lot of Heartache

david -

Mi Problema

A small amount of water hit the keyboard of my unibody Macbook. Even though I let it dry for a week (using an external keyboard) the bottom left and top right arrays did not work (3 critical keys in each location).

So I began looking around for my options and replacing the upper body of the bottom case was simply the cheapest.

Here in Australia the Tri-wing drivers are not the same as the one I received from iFixIt and the cheapest upper case was easily twice the price. So I bought both from iFixIt.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

Nice and easy after I sourced all of my bits and pieces. The printed guide was the perfect companion to the repair.

My keyboard is now working again and I have reclaimed the space stolen by that keyboard.

Mi Consejo

Read the guide from top to bottom AND watch the video before doing anything. Doing this will make it easier when the machine is open and in front of you.

Make sure you place screws in an orderly fashion and parts as well so that the reversal of the process goes smoothly.
