A few months ago my beloved iPhone began to get cranky. It would sometimes ignore my clicks on the home button. Other times, it would think I had double clicked the button when I had only single clicked it. Our relationship looked dire. Were we doomed to part ways, my iPhone headed to a desk drawer, me headed to a new iPhone 4S (and a dangerously empty wallet)?

The fine relationship counselors at iFixit listened to our problems. They said that we weren't communicating with each other properly, and that a new home button would help bring us together again. It was a tough process... we both got frustrated with each other several times, but in the end, we came out of it stronger and ready to face whatever home button related needs we encounter.
Mi Consejo
Read everything in the iFixit guide twice over before diving into the fix. As you pull each screw out, place them into individual piles (one for each step as you go along), so you don't mix up the screws.
