Mi Problema

I bought one the first MPB with Intel-processors in early 2006 and was really proud that the machine run and run and run... - until december last year. By then, the MBP begun to make strange noises, became slower and slower and finally didn't even start up any more. Well, since data has been back-uped, I decided to give my MBP a chance for repair by trying to replace the HD (which I suspected to be the main cause of the immediate breaking-down in late december 2011).

Mi SoluciĆ³n

Ordering the HD and replacing it (attentively following the ifixit.com-guide, of course) was a breeze, actually.

Time required:

- order: 3d (shipping from the US to Switzerland!);

- repair: 1h (approx.)

and at the end: my MBP runs again like a young fawn..!

Mi Consejo

you definitively need a torx 6 screwdriver (wasn't indicated or I over-read it during ordering on the ifixit.com-website)...
