This was for prevention but ended up saving my system the morning it showed up

The night prior to getting my PlayStation 3 Yellow Light of Death (YLOD) Fix Kit my system actually died of the YLOD. At the time I was heartbroken and upset all at the same time but the following morning my kit came in the mail - Thanks ifixit! Because of you my system was back up and running better than it ever had before in a little less than a day.

Went smoothly - got a little scary when the board heats up and make all those noises and the flux bubbles but she is running now.

Take your time - if you're cleaning your system and fixing it - this process should take you the better part of a day, but you'll have fun and it is rewarding to see you dead system come back to life...
