I ordered Mac Mini 2011 with the intention of installing an SSD. When I found out it had an empty space for another HDD, I done a quick search online and found this website. I purchased the kit and waited for my Mini to be delivered.
Mi Solución
Except for a few assembly issues, the process went great. I followed the instruction manual on here as the video kept overtaking me. I booted my new Mini straight into the Recovery Partition and restored the HDD onto the SSD. This only took about 5 minutes to do, I was expecting much longer. I then option-booted into the SSD and I was amazed at how fast the OS loaded up. And I still am; 15 seconds flat.
Mi Consejo
When I was reassembling my Mini, the airport module plate would not slot on properly. The 2 screw holes on either side would not sit in the grooves on the Mini itself.
If this happens to you, check all the wires are around the top hard drive and not sitting in-between them. I used a small screwdriver to hold the wires at the side while I reinstalled the hard drive.After giving the hard drive a little push, the airport module finally fitted correctly.
