I've had this machine for five years, and the battery was no longer holding a charge very well, and would also suddenly shut down at about 30%

This repair was as easy as promised.

Keep in mind that Apple offers battery change-out on laptops at a pretty reasonable price, so consider that if you don't feel like doing it yourself. That said, I saved myself about $40 going this route.
