Macbook Pro 15 Unibody 2010

Mi Problema

I dropped my case and warped the macbook near the ethernet plug. I couldn't insert an ethernet cable. The power plug still worked.

Then I found a way to reform the corner, using brute force. It worked and the computer worked but showed blue lines on all white background fields.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

I took the computer apart using the teardown, and then reassembled it, making sure no surfaces were touching the case. I replaced the microphone, which seemed to have fallen out of its 'hole'.

Good news: My system works again!

Bad news: I have some parts and screws left over.

Mi Consejo

At first, I couldn't tell where the backlight ribbon came from. I looked in one of the guides and found the instructions. I made the mistake of looking at the teardown first, which doesn't really show a bunch of detail.

I think since part and screw needs to be kept track of in the repair guides. Also, I couldn't always tell which screws were which. Maybe a some clues to differentiate size differences.
