Tier 4 Liquid Damage- Declined Repair by Apple

Purchased MacBook Pro 15 custom bult in early 2012. Paid in excess of $2100. Six weeks later my dog jumped and spill hot coffee on it while I was working. This laptop well protected with turtle shell, key board skin and screen protector still let some of it go through inside. Took it to Apple next day thinking "GENIUS". They declined to honor warranty. Estimated a minimum repair cost of $1400. Fought with their customer relation team, finally they were willing to pickup half he charges and on top of it offered me gift certificate worth $200. That still left my side of over $600 for repair bill.

I refused and ordered tool kit and battery from ifixit

opened the macbook, cleaned thoroughly all coffee stains with alcohol and wiped the board with tooth brush replaced the battery and walla. Good as new.

They may call themselves "GENIUS" but they still are high school dropouts. Do it yourself then getting it done from idiots.
