Mi Problema

I have an old, reliable iPod 5th gen. I think I bought it in 2007 a few months before the original iPhone was announced. Anyhoo, the battery will only last about 15 minutes, which usually isn't a problem since 90% of this iPod's life it's plugged into a speaker dock getting constant power from that. But after I saw how cheap these batteries are, I figured, why not?

Mi SoluciĆ³n

It was a little more difficult then I imagined. The ifixit guide was incredible, and made it sound very easy. I actually 'accidentally' bought some extra 'Plastic opening tools' because I didn't realize the battery kit already came with some. Turned out to be a great idea because I broke two of the tools trying to crack open the ipod. I'm not sure if the tools are flimsy, if I was doing it wrong, or if my iPod is exceptionally strong. Probably me doing it wrong.

Mi Consejo

I would reccommend getting an extra set of 'plastic opening tools'... I'm sure improvisation would be easy too, but after I saw how easy it was to snap off a leading edge on those things I'd stock up on some.
