Mi Problema

My previous iMac wouldn't boot up because of a video card problem. Because of the cost of the repair I bought a new iMac. When I attempted to recover my files from the Time Machine backup the files where accidentally deleted. Since I still had the hard drive from my old iMac I decided to recover the files from it. After visiting ifixit.com I learned how to remove the old hard drive and learned that there was a Universal Drive Adapter available to connect the hard drive from my old iMac to the new iMac.

Mi Solución

I received the Universal Drive Adapter from ifixit in a timely manner and was able to assemble the various wires and power cord fairly quickly. Yesterday, I was able to recover all our important documents and our photos. I am very happy with the information provided on the ifixit.com website and with the performance of the Adapter. I am thoroughly satisfied and highly recommend ifixit as a resource for computer repair.

Mi Consejo

I wouldn't have had a clue on how to remove the hard drive as there was no obvious way to get inside the case. After visiting ifixit.com I not only learned how to get inside the case but how to remove the hard drive.
